“Support and prevention Domestic Violence”

The aim of this project is to aid and provide support to women who have suffered the trauma of domestic abuse. In this project, we want to focus on helping all women in need. Specifically, women in Tampa Bay who are suffering from domestic violence. We want to become a guide to these women and lead them to exactly the help they need, through different organizations.

Bullying, harassment, and social sites!

Our project is designed to address certain problems emerging these days, such as the increasing popularity of social media networking sites, especially among children, pre-teenagers, and teenagers. Bullying can take place during or after school hours and happens in places like on the playground or the bus. Self-esteem can influence life in myriad ways, research indicates that youth who develop these skills early on in life thrive in school, and at home, and will lead a more successful life.

Domestic Violence and Abuse

The domestic abuse, and or domestic violence, includes any attempt by one person in an intimate relationship or marriage to dominate and control the other. Domestic violence and abuse are used for one purpose and one purpose only: to gain and maintain total control over you. An abuser doesn’t “fairplay.” An abuser uses fear, guilt, shame, and intimidation to wear you down and keep you under control.

You deserve to feel valued, respected, and safe. More information www.helpguide.org.

Consequences of violence

  • Children from homes with violence are much more likely to experience psychological problems.
  • Children who have experienced domestic violence often meet the diagnostic criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the effects on their brains are similar to those experienced by combat veterans.
  • Domestic violence in childhood is directly linked to learning difficulties, lower IQ scores, deficits in visual motor skills, and problems with attention and memory.
  • Living with domestic violence significantly alters a child’s DNA, prematurely aging him or her by 7 to 10 years
  • Those who grow up with domestic violence are six times more likely to commit suicide and 50% more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol.
  • Children of domestic violence are three times more likely to repeat the cycle in adulthood.

The bottom line is that abusive behavior is never acceptable, whether it is from a man, a woman, a teenager or an older adult. You deserve to feel valued, respected and safe.

Bullying, harassment, and social sites!

The tumultuous physical and social changes that accompany puberty, the desire for autonomy and distance from the family, and the transition from elementary school to middle school or junior high can all cause problems for young people.

Social media networking sites are increasingly popular, especially among children, teenagers, and young adults. Is social media addictive?  Social media overuse may affect work or academic performance, self-esteem, time management, relationships, and mental health.

What is Bullying?

According to stopbullying.gov, bullying is an unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.

What is Cyberbullying?

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content.

Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation.

The Real Problem

Bullying can take place during or after school hours. While most reported bullying happens in the school building, a significant percentage also happens in places like on the playground or the bus. Many children exposed to violence in the home are also victims of physical abuse. Children who witness domestic violence or are victims of abuse themselves are at serious risk for long-term physical and mental health problems. Children who witness violence between parents may also be at greater risk of being violent in their future relationships.

Hope, with love, support, and prevention”. The aim of the new project is to aid and provide support to women who have experienced the trauma of domestic abuse.

We appreciate your support with your monetary donations for purchasing bags and necessary personal items for women, these bags will be given to women in need recovering from situations of domestic abuse.
